sdg0080
i am trying to figure out why people dont run capacitors anymore? is it a price issue now? are they too expensice compaired to an agm battery? i mean a cap is far lighter than a battery, by a long shot. i also understand that it takes several large caps to equal the storage of a battery. i just see so many multi battery set ups. i have seen steve use to 40 farad caps in the civic with 2 additional batterys. is this all personal preferance? n8ball2013
it is no longer cost effective. Technology has come up and people have realized that for the price of a cap you can do a bigger or multiple batteries and get better results. I'm not sure if steve even has the power cap 40 farad deals anymore. RF t5002, not overly huge but a cap would help without a large space requirement. my new project is going to use several batteries due to the fact that space is no concern. CLNFREAK
I took mine out yesterday, after finding out that my alt is putting out about 13+ volts and the cap was holding the voltage to 12.3 and couldnt be adjusted higher, it also had a loose connection that was driving me nuts. I am lookin to go to a 2nd batt in the trunk. I had light dimming with the cap and none with out LOL I used it before with no problems but I guess I am over that treshhold that it starts to reduce the affectiveness

Now Rockford's "powerful" amp is the t1000-4 and has 0awg inputs and probably realistically puts out 5x the power the 400a4 did. Quote CAUTION!
