3/8th thick aluminum, can a regular wood/metal drill bit drill thru this?

I got my buss bars yesterday from metals depot. It is 3/8th's thick by 1-1/2 wide. I have a brand new set of dewalt metal/wood drill bits, and was hoping that these drill bits would be able to drill thru this thick aluminum? I'm @ work for the next 48hrs, otherwise I would have already tried it, so i'm asking ya'll for your opinions...Thank you

usually a metal bit should be fine on it, just spray lube and go

I use a little wd-40 when drilling into metal. try to keep your bits cool. thay will last longer over time

also dont run the bit a million miles per hour, good speed and light feed pressure will help make the bits last to

speed and feed calc

WD40 works, but will need more applications during the process, otherwise put some good motor oil (new not used) 10W-30 or around there on the bit and apply as needed. I use it when using a drill press and it works great!
