I have had a pair of 12s and two different pairs of 10s. Now I am running one 12" DC Lvl 4 off an Infinity 1211a mono amp only around 800-850rms @ 4 ohms and it is louder and hits the lows far better than any pair of subs I have owned so far. It probably does have alot to do with the box. This is the first box that was to spec for the subs I always used prefabs before . I do plan to upgrade the amp to a Sundown or AQ 1200. Needs atleast 1200rms its hungry for more power!

I might say it is a good idea to start with one good sub and put it in proper enclosure and get a good amp for it before adding another sub to the mix. Keep it simple at first and go from there. Other people may disagree.

I used to run 8 MTX 5504-10 10" subs in a fiberglass slotport off of an MTX 91002 getting 1780 watts, with a line driver at 8 volts. I did a best 151.1 I went down to a single Memphis Mojo 12", and a Memphis Belle 5 channel 1100 to the sub no line driver and did a 148.3 680 watts less, 4 volts less, 515 less inches of cone... and only 2.8db less. Single sub setups FTMFW. now I'm running a single DD1508 and doing a 139.0

Well I ran 2 15's most of the year in NSPL and did a best of a 151.3 on the dash with 3600 watts. I then went to a single 15 off of the same 2 amps which produced more power since I could strap them at a lower impedence and was able to do a best of a 152.6 on the dash. That's a gain of 1.3db by dropping a sub and wiring the amps down lower. The funny thing is that I wasn't making all that much more power either. My clamped results when I dropped down to one sub were 5226 watts which is only 1626 more watts. So a lot of the gain came from the new box allowing the sub to work better in the environment that it was in. My one sub setup is the loudest in NSPL right now. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the one 15 will do a 155.2 in the kick off the same power.

What vehicle is that in?

What vehicle is that in?

A 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 with the entire setup below the window line and completely in the hatch. I would have to run street C in Db Drag since I have more than the alloted batteries for street B where my woofer size would put me. The 152.6 is with the car completely sealed at 52hz. The box is for a single 15 that is 3 cubes and tuned to 46.8hz. All the equiptment is in my sig.

I think if I ever did a 1 sub set up, I think I would go with a single 12" IA Warden off of something like a SoundDigital 8K, sealed off from the trunk. I wonder if it would be able to pull a 150 with only 1 12......that would be awesome.
