CLNFREAK
I need a new sub amp and am thinking of running my JL's at 1 ohm. question is will an amp at 1 ohm load get to hot for a daily driver ? the amps arent hidden so air flow isnt an issue and I can add fans, just wonderin if I can run the amp for long peiord of time or not
Torres
not at all. as long as they're one ohm stable, and if you can provide enough juice for the current draw. tons of people run them at 1 ohm. some people run select amps at lower impedances than that what amp did you have in mind? Hunters21w
Yea just get a 1ohm stable amp, easy as pie. shouldnt have a problem with overheating unless its not meant to run at 1ohm. Rogers
what does your electrical system look like? your going to need a SOLID 14.4volts to get rated power out of the brutus... decent amp though... Torres
that amp will be fine at 1 ohm. but i agree with rogers, it'll need a stout electrical to get around rated power from it. but with only up to 1200 watts on tap, your current draw wont be too much, so your upgrades wont be too drastic, if any at all since we dont know what you have right now
