Wow $800 is ridiculous! Just find some people to help you build the box and get dimensions from this forum. I usually build boxes for my friends for free minus supplies, didn't know I could turn a $750 profit doing it

that would make things much easier if someone could design it for me. but like i said its a weird shape so your really almost need to see it in person to get the measurements.

building a box yourself will cost you no more then $50, and that guy wants $800 for it?

dude, do it your self

I have over $150 in just material on my box and that not including bradnails....which there are about 500-800 in mine.

On the real I would have Ed build your enclosure....I would do it but I'm simply to far away.

either hook up with hhr ed or what you should do is build your own stuff... even if you do it and it sucks, you could rebuild over ten times before you even approach the $800 he quoted you. two sheets of mdf is like 55 bux here plus another 20 bux for nails glue, misc materials i mean you could do it yourself and have fun and get better at building..

take some pictures some measurements and im sure people on here could help you out and by box number 3 (lol jk) youll be good and youll have done it yourself!

So I attended my first competition ever today. I jsut got back from a new england spl event. Met some cool people heard some nice stuff. The main reason I went was to meet with this guy dave (2009 NE spl competitor of the year) who is real good at making custom boxes. My setup is listed in my sig and he took measurements and threw some ideas out for a box for me. Its going into an 06 silverado ext cab and I have some space restrictions. He is going to have a design and sketch for me by the end of next week. We may not have the space to use all 4 and I told him if he can make 3 of them louder than the 4 in the setup I have now then lets do it. I just want to get louder. He told me the price could be anywhere from 500-800$ for an mdf box for 3 or 4 12s ported. The shape will be a little weird not just a rectangle but 800$? for 800 should I just ditch the 4 12s and buy 2 15s of something? 800 for a box seems pretty steep.

Are u talking about the guy with the Hyundai Tucson?? If so IMO there aren't many better, if any at building and designing enclsoures. If he's building you an enclosure w/ his octoport then it's gonna be very very expensive because i think he's the only person I've ever heard/seen with that sort of port.

Personally I would never pay that much for an enclosure. For $800 you could experiment with at least 20 different boxes before catching up to that price. Just get a good design and build on your own, it will be a good learning experience anyways. Plus you'll have most of the winter to experiment with enclosures before the new competition season picks up for the most part.

woman..cant live with em...cant shoot em...guess were all fucked

You might be a Redneck if you use your leftover gutters for a speaker box port...

yea he is no doubt an elite box builder , we weren't going to use the octaport but this winter will be slower at work And 800 for plain wood box 925 carpeted is too much to spend now knowing paycheck will be a little smaller for a little while
