DJL Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 sorry my bad ....i knew a guy with AQ 10s with i "think " 11 or 12 spiders ....seemed to be a waste to me <just my preference .. We have never built an AQ suspension with more then 8 spiders for anyone and then only for a couple of guys running VERY high power (5000-13000 watts clamped) The Alum coil version and older copper coil have a 6 spider standard design. The new copper coil version has an 8 spider design but the spider compound material is very thin and to the eye looks like a 4 layer. As mentioned we do not use progressive roll spiders. All of our HDC series motors can now be rebuilt to any basket size from 10" through 18". Any HDC series sub can be updated to either copper or alum coils with the newer suspensions.

LOL, Im sure DD does the same, tho I seem to tear DD spiders on 1 sub other sub perfectly fine in a common chamber box with 2 amps strapped from just standard playing, and what erks me more being a dealer, I cant even get a email back from Brad, then call Steve, he returns my call then goes to talk to Brad and call says he will call back, almost 2 weeks later notta.... not even 3 months play time on a pair of 9518s with composite cones...

Which amps do you have strapped? How many subs in the box. About the only time I see this is when the box design causes uneven loading on the subs.
