The HDC will get DOWN!!! IMO a better SPL driver then the BL....I'm sure most will agree. AQ offers you a shit ton of speaker, for a VERY NICE PRICE!

in this case id pick a HDC, but honestly in most cases sensitivity is a key i like to look at. if i can get just as loud using less wattage and less weight, i'll go that route all day any day.

loudness i dunno whats gonna be louder of the 2, but i do knowi like the sound of the hdc over the bl

Not pointing fingers or anything..but here is a little logic.

HDC has a 3 stack of 220mm magnets, with a pole vent.

A pole vent yields ~5% or so less motor strength as saturation becomes an issue and you get very little of anything out of the 3rd slug other than clearance for the coil to clear.

A 2 stack (220mm) BL is about 3% less motor strength than a 3 stack with out a pole vent...and it's made in Las Vegas...

Do the math :)

An HDC3 is hand made too. I dont think they make the magnet, but the speaker is hand assembled, and can be build to a persons specs, just like yours..... so im not sure I see where your going? I liked my BL's greatly, but the HDC3 sounded "Better and louder" but this is all my opinion, and im not trying to force it down anyones throat.

I'd go with the HDC, the warrenty is really cool and if you need a different size or anything they will change it for you at AQ.

um every company i know of does that so thats not really a perk

HDC

"C" indicating the Chinese origin...

AQ offers other products as well, but they were very direct in saying yes these are speakers that are made in China..not here...which is why they are cheaper.

BIG price difference between the stuff that is made here...and the stuff that is not. (ie: the other brand DD...is much more expensive)

pertaining to this, i havent Spoke to anyone directly related to AQ, but theres rumors that the newest rendition of the AQ Heavy Duty Series are now assembled here in the US rather then in china, i havent seen any yes or no from DJL, but would be nice either way to know from a horses mouth other then a rumor.

Just saying that's what it was as face value when they went away from the original HD design...

No idea now, this was a few years back. :)

If it is so I'm sure pricing will change accordingly as well.
