basshead4life
i was just curious about this whole passive radiator thing and i read somewhere that you need a PR with 2x the Xmax or 2x the sd. so i figured that a PR would move 2x the air as the sub powering it so i came up with this.. theres a sealed box the houses the sub the a chamber between the sub and PR and then theres a ported part for the PR. P.S. this is my first sketchup so dont hate plz. stupid push pull wouldnt make thickness the same it was too hard Team S.M.D. Maritime Car Audio- (2) 18" SSA ZCON D1 - American Bass 500.1 - 60 ft of 3/0 -480 Ah of battery - (2) stock alternators (70 +90) - Kenwood Excelon x-794, 4v preouts car audio is just a LOT more complicated than "this amp does this power" or "this sub will be this loud". its like 2 + 2 = banana. (if that confuses you then you get the point) lol

Boon
Kinda inefficient, awful awful cone control. Remember the air between the woofer and PR is going to expand and compress so the link between woofer excursion and PR excursion mightn't be entirely accurate. 10.x volts fo' life! aznboi3644
basically that would sound like crap. just a 4th order inside a 4th order. Making for probably a very narrow passband
Torres
fyi...just for future sketchup use...when doing push/pull, click it once, click the direction you wanna pull it, and just type a number. most likely .75, then click enter and it'll automatically go that thickness
Ben Building
Why would you waste a passive radiator that way? You have placed it between the woofer and the port! Basically, that's two different types of port in the same box. How is this supposed to increase either efficiency or bandwith? Do you plan on playing with the mass of the PR or something?
