  1. 1. Should I run 6 18's or 8 18's in the Suburban? Why?

Dude this is what i was telling you...and you go "you dont know anything...blah blah blah..." You have all kinds of different btls, with different motors and options...theyre all going to be moving differently and just not work properly.

IMO you wouldve been better off taking your time to find 4 of the SAME model btl and run them...instead of cramming abuncha random subs in the back of your truck.

I agree 100% with everything in bold.. BTLs with different options and motors WILL be moving differently and being affected by the power in different ways.

I vote, keep 3-4 of the same model and go from there. 6-8 would be sick but would be crazy in price and time.

Then again I am happy just to have my 1 btl.

Having less woofers and power will let you have more time and money for the "little things" that make a difference.

Maybe work on your sound stage that almost everyone forgets.

No matter what you do, its going to be loud.

Good luck on your build and learn what you can.

I got an idea sell your btls since you have a variety of different models and options and get 4 incriminator audio 21'' wardens. That would be some shit thats what I want to get when I get the money for it. You will have tons of :hairtrick: :hairtrick: :hairtrick:

Please don't confuse the OP anymore than he already seems to be about possible setups here lol.

lol my bad im just torn on the fact about mixing subs. I would rather go with all the same gear, and that would be one monster build.

Couldn't find a good pic, but I vote 8 18s in a 4th order. Like a diamond shape. Should be loud if you do it right. 25kw+ would need a lot of electrical upgrades to work properly, and the wire you'll need will probably cost more than some peoples whole install. G/L.

The 4 21" IA Wardens you mentioned will also cost more than 6-8 used 18" FI BTLs go for. With the prospective power the OP is talking about for the 8 18s (AQ 3500D per 18) I'd much rather run 3500 or so per woofer, than 7000w per sub on a daily system w/ an inexperienced owner. Good luck running that amount of power daily to any woofer.

I thought you said just yesterday there would be no more threads like this until your build was started, or words to that effect? I swear you posted that somewhere.

1. Talk is cheap

2. All those box designs... how to put it... ...suck - I reckon even if you do it you are way, way, way out of your depth. If you're playing with 6-8 18's you don't need to ask the internet for a box design.

I would have to agree with that.

Ok I just got of work and I want to clear up some thing. I have 4 exact same 18" Fi BTL D2 fully loaded subs. Tristan560 you are WRONG. I only have one sub that is different and that is the one that is the newer mode. You are again talking what you do not know and ask the person I bought it from "btlcavalier" if I said I would switch it to a triple stack BTL. Quit talking what YOU DO NOT KNOW!!!!! I am not upset, but I hate when people run their mouths about ish they don't know about. I guess man.... Oh and Marlo, I plan on running AQ 3500's, BUT I will only be putting 2500-3000 on a daily, the other 500 watts will be for competition, I will not be doing 7000 per sub that is crazy. lol. I am not confused I am asking for the opinions on this forum. I will make my own decision, but it will be based on this poll. I know that it seems like I am in wayyyyyyyyyyyy over my head, but I promise this will be done right. I will be going to professional installers. Trust me I got this. Thanks for all the advice. And Tristan560 I am not saying that if Scott said it to me I know it all, but if I said I will keep the 1 newer motor BTL, Scott did say that there is NOTHING wrong with that. But Tristan I do appreciate the advice.
