Mellow18
my electrical consist of one 270 DC Power alt,rob ftw!.big3.D3400 XS Power battery in the rear, stock battery in the front. alright so i currently have one run of Knu CCA 1/0 power going from the front to rear battery, fused on both ends. and the plan is to have (2) runs of 3/0 copper cables from front positive to rear positive.both runs fused on each end with 3/0,ground the front battery to the chasi, followed by one run of 3/0 from the front negative to the rear negative.followed by the back battery grounded to the chasis. now the questions are, what should i do with that already ran 1/0 knu wire?add it as a negative run?or is one run good enough? the only thing is the wire isnt long enough to reach the battery,id have to use a 0ga connector(already have one),along with more wire to reach the battery. next question is. should i ground the amp to the chasis,or run it off the negative of the rear battery? LMK if theres something you would do differently.thanks Edited December 4, 2009 by Mellow18 Quote 2001 Black Monte Carlo SS chrome 20'' (1) Alpine i-9881 deck-ipod- (2) DC lvl 4XL 18''s-Walled- (1) DAT Hellfire - 2500.1-fused- (1) D3400 XS Power battery-fused- (2) CDT 6.5 comp (X) pioneer 6x9 set (1) RF T-400.4 (1) DC POWER ALT INSTALLED BY ROB FTW,Big3 (1) Viper 5901 Alarm + killer yorkies and chihuahas [EdgarCervantes] 4:31 pm: im in my room and out of nowere i hear bass im like oh shit sombody has bass in this city, i look out the window and its my mom bumping Gorilla Zoe
Neel
I would just remove the current run of 0 gauge, sell it and put it towards buying a second run of 3/0 so you can have one run for positive and one run for negative. Keep it simple! Quote Too Much Stuff to list .

Keep it simple! without the current run of 0ga,ill have 2 runs of 3/0 for the power, and 1 run of 3/0 for negative. when i get the 3/0 that is lol,by doing what your saying id be selling that 1/0 to get the 2nd run of 3/0 for the negative. Hunters21w
Dont mean to jack your thread but I have a similar question. Is it better to ground from your back batt neg to your front batt neg or from back batt to your frame? I agree with sellin the 1/0 for more 3/0 tho, keeping it simple. Would it be better to have more power runs or neg? or is it better for both? Would it be better to have more power runs or neg? or is it better for both? ima say, grounding from the front battery to the back battery is best, then from there ground the back batt to your frame, also ground the front battery to the frame if its not done yet...that is a good way to do it. more power runs Quote 2001 Black Monte Carlo SS chrome 20'' (1) Alpine i-9881 deck-ipod- (2) DC lvl 4XL 18''s-Walled- (1) DAT Hellfire - 2500.1-fused- (1) D3400 XS Power battery-fused- (2) CDT 6.5 comp (X) pioneer 6x9 set (1) RF T-400.4 (1) DC POWER ALT INSTALLED BY ROB FTW,Big3 (1) Viper 5901 Alarm + killer yorkies and chihuahas [EdgarCervantes] 4:31 pm: im in my room and out of nowere i hear bass im like oh shit sombody has bass in this city, i look out the window and its my mom bumping Gorilla Zoe
BulletInjection
I don't really see a point in doing more than 1 3/0 run or even 1 2/0 run Quote My build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...8920&st=100 http://www.youtube.com/Bulletinjection
dmanson
I don't really see a point in doing more than 1 3/0 run or even 1 2/0 run one run of 1/0 is good for around 3000-4000rms. so if he's doing over 10000rms then 3/0 if efficient.
