tripleb45
Ok I have been searching for a while now and I can't find what I am looking for. I am looking to get an idea on running 3 big amps at .5 ohms in my build. I only have a few names, but no prices and my internet is acting stupid and slow right now so my search engines on here suck. I have a few ideas of who I have in mind but these are not concrete if you have any other ideas and prices please post them. Ok these are the brands I have so far the 8000 watt versions of course DAT 8.1- Soundigital- Stetsom- Cactus Sound 7kw- Atomic 7000.1- Feel free to correct the models I have listed I can be wrong. Not sure why DAT is on your list when you said Sundown was over priced, so is DAT. Stetsom and SD are great choices. Cactus and Atomic is decent choices too. Marlo Stanfield
SounDigital 8000.1 without question would be my first choice... I did some testing with them and was very impressed with it for daily usage. Then when I just did TL testing it was burping like a .5db louder than 2 AB VFL400.1 @ .5ohm and was exactly the same as 2 VFL500.1 @ .5ohm each. I have the entire test numbers around here somewhere if you're really interested in them. Quote 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... QX56 is staying stock til I get loud... ALPINE408
Well take sd off your list murilo tells me not to play music below 1ohm with the sd amps burbs are ok Quote Have you ever had your woofers blown?
Boon
Well take sd off your list murilo tells me not to play music below 1ohm with the sd amps burbs are ok Same goes for the Stetsoms IMO. Why 0.5 ohms? The Stetsom and SD both do like 9kwrms++ at 1 ohm, what do you gain by going to 0.5 except a whole lot of heat. Every one of those amps will pull over 1000A at 1 ohm and I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull 1200 or more amps at 0.5 But as I said, 0.5 = stupid. EDIT: CS 7k and Atomic 7k are the same amp. And some people have issues with running them daily. Edited December 22, 2009 by Boon Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
windowtinter
the SD is a monster in a tiny package it will run without a problem all day long has good protection plenty of power at 1ohm no reason to push that amp any harder on a daily kinda deal with good voltage and batteries even with (decent) rise you will still see 7k or so your gonna need plenty of sub too oh and a bad ass box to handle that much power long story short almost hands down SD
