Santa brought my new sub amp today

Recommended Posts

Santa came today(even though my credit card got charged for it, LOL) My new sub amp. I realize it might not be everyones cup of tea since it is an SQ amp, Class H, 4366 watts at 1ohm, and kinda spendy. Dual 1/0 power and ground inputs, microprocessor controlled. I already had one of these and the control over your subs is incredible. Check out the link in my sig to read more about it. Robert Zeff is a legend and does some fine work!!! Enjoy!

How efficient is it compared to class d amps in its power range?

System tear out has begun...Out with the old

i have a iq of 128 i graduated at the top of my class tell me how im reatrded you are the 1 thats dumb as hell you can't even spell

Look at the underlined text hahahahahahahaha

I think of it as the virgin losing the virginity technique

not just jumping in to it, and pounding away, but going at it slowly over time, to get to that full extreme

How efficient is it compared to class d amps in its power range?

To be honest, I am not a super versed in alot of that kind of stuff, I just know what I like. Obviously I can get many, many amps with the same power for a third of the price, but I love these amps! Kind of like comparing a Corvette to a Ferrari, the Corvette might win in a few categories, but I'd rather have the Ferarri!! I'll do a build log for sure!!

According to the review on the Arc site it says the following.

"I have some previous experience with Class

G and H designs, and I was curious to see how

this amp fared when compared to a good Class

D amp in terms of effi ciency. As I suspected, it’s

better than most very large Class AB designs,

but not as effi cient as the best Class D designs.

But, it sounds much better, and does not have

all the internal heat issues related to the output

fi lters that are required in a Class D design. A

good compromise in my opinion, if sound quality

matters to you. Also, bear in mind that with

this power supply design, the overall effi ciency

of the amp will increase as the battery voltage

drops closer to 12 volts than our measurement

standard of 14.4V."

QUOTE (ryde2idie @ May 9 2009, 07:37 AM) i feel your pain man, but ya gotta keep on poundin. a sub will slap you in the back of the head for years and years, itll make your ears hurt, and caus a small heart attack, but 10 bucks says it wont stab you in the back.
