Thorshammer, I can haz piece of DC pie?

Recommended Posts

I'm really stoked guys. I got my lvl 5 12 today and it's a behemoth. The only issue though is that the box took a beating and about an inch of the magnet/motor got chipped off during shipping(not seen in pics). It is towards the bottom of the sub, not the chrome part but the slugs or whatever you call it. This won't affect the subs performance will it? Everything else seems perfect, no cracks in the basket from what I see or tears in the surround.

This will be my first venture away from mainstream equipment and I feel all warm and fuzzy inside just wondering what it will sound like. I am going from two sealed 10w3v3's off a 500/1 to this, lol. More pictures to come in the next week or so.

If there's a chip taken out of the motor I would PM Rusty and arrange a return shipment...

EDIT: My bad...kinda jumped the gun here. Pics of what exactly happened will help. Sorry haha got a lil excited

Pics of damage would help... But no it won't affect the performance of the woofer unless a really large piece chipped off. It's fairly common to see woofers with chips on the mags.

What kind of power are you gonna be running??

the way you demagnetize a magnet is by hitting it against something. so if you have a chip missing thats 1" big... i would be a little worried about it. but yes, pics will help.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.
