newls1 Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 (edited) After a thankfully boring shift that I just got off, I took a few pics with my cell phone of the main wiring that leads to the rear cab area. The only section that I didnt take a pic of was where the main power comes in from a run of 2/0 cable, and the main "KILL" switch underneath the drivers seat.... I will get you all better pics on my next shift. As far as power goes, the alt on this FORD 2006 ambulance is a LEACE NAVILLE (SP) and is damn large in size, unknown amperage though. Also, we have a drive shaft mounted 110v power generator so we can plug in normal "HOUSE" type electronics upto I think 4500watts........ We have 3 in ours, Ive seen some only have 1, but most have 2. We have the normal 2 under the hood, then 1 in a VENTED enclosure on the side of the box. Great cooling - They can run 200 amps for hours at a time with no problems. Also made to last MUCH longer than a normal car alt, since a Class 8 truck will normally run 100-120k miles per year.
