white_boi_audio Posted May 27, 2007 Report Share Posted May 27, 2007 (edited) hey got a question i built a box out of mdf for two tens and tuned it o36 hertz when i playing music or anything when i get over like 26 on my headunit the bass doesnt get anylouder its like u can hear it as much as if u turn it down do u think i tuned the box down to like 32 it make it where the bass got louder on louder volumes or do i need to turn the bass down ? any suggestions? My buddies car does this on his stock headunit and shit, turn it up it only gets to a certain loudness then doesnt go up any louder. sean 371 Posted May 27, 2007 Report Share Posted May 27, 2007 2 type r 10's will run you around 250 just for the subs, if you include tax and shipping. i used that hifonics bxi1206 on a pair of them and it hits real hard for 10's and only 1200 watts. audiofanaticz Posted May 27, 2007 Report Share Posted May 27, 2007 sounds too me that you have your sub amp gain too far up... so at lower volumes your amp is already pushing its max hence why your subs dont get louder when your volume is turned up but the rest of your speakers do. 9 times out of 10 your amp gain will always be lower then halfway up. also if you have a bass boost that is all the way up, might be causing it too.
