jbondox Posted March 21, 2010 Report Share Posted March 21, 2010 and then best buy has a remote programmed to your alarm. great idea. ah hah a h ah ahh ahahhahaahh hha ahha hahahhah h thanks N8 i smiled today! so recap here, the viper sucks because you bought it on line you installed it the serial number is missing you didn't read the manual trying to replace 2 batteries with 1 and the seller hasn't responded to you what am i missing? why is it when I do these security systems and remote starts that I never have a single issue? wait, i take that back, i lost a jumper when I was D2D and it wouldn't work right.... but i figured it out in less than a minute, and it was my fault to begin with do you actually believe there is a better security system out there than the viper? basskartel Posted March 21, 2010 Report Share Posted March 21, 2010 you have the first gen 5701, which had many issues with it.... the second gen stuf doesnt have the 1 pink and 1 grey wire anymore. all the antennae wires are together in one harness in the gen 2 5701. we went through enough bullshit with those out here in ontario canada sadly there isnt a date on the brain. The sticker is gone which was pretty odd. I tried another 2 way antenna and cable and still no luck. It was the black antenna with like 6 wires plugging into it and 3 plugs in the brain. 1 pink wire 1 grey and the rest were together in 1 plug. I wouldnt imagine both would be bad or wrong. The antenna was the right one I assume, it worked the rest of the functions but not the 2 way. It has the valet switch and large led in the middle with a single fixed antenna coming off.
