jmitch
you would have had to take the rotor off or you did? after lookin at it after i took it of it had no place for the studs to pop out since it had that shield behind it ill take pic when i get home just for all that never had never seen workings behind the brakes!! bobonit
I'm not getting what the solution was. When you said the rim was loose, was it because the broken lugs worked themselves loose and you were able to take them off? OR Did you take the rotor off? 97 Maxima SE Bunch of shit going in, check out the build Build Log
Rogers
that^^^ im still kinda confused... why do the lugs need to pop out? http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/79921-rogers-700-dream-car-update-page-17-a-wall/?p=2335774 93 Saturn SC2My system4 SA-15's Walled 2 Cerwin-Vega S2000's 3 Kinetik Hc2000's Dual 200amp alts. you guys done with the peepee touching contest or do I need to end it? 310_cutty
Maybe once the rim was loose he had enough room to get the studs out through the back...

jmitch
Problem - heads of lugs ripped off stud leaving only threads on the studs deep down in the rim where no tool could get in there to remove without damaging the rim. solution attempts kickin the wheel =fail using a large gear puller = fail taking it to tire shops = they dont know shit now having those attemps fail especially the gear puller (pretty sure u guys know how those work) i thought it was on there for good until i had to break rotor or rim so i drove on it like nothing with 1 lug on it cuz thats all that would go on far enough. the driving made things vibrate which causes friction and since the wheel had nothing holding it back i.e lug cept for 1 wheel vibrated and shook loose and moved far enough to break the threads that was holdin it on. took off the lug that i had put on there to loosened enough to remove it by hand. that stud that had the lug on it didnt move as much and didnt break all the way. this is where i took the rotor off and knocked out the troubled stud saving rim and rotor.
