alenv10 Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 I am doing a 240 or 270 amp mechman alt, 1 d2700 under the hood, for 3000watts rms. should i be good? or im still gonna blow my amp? Or as in primary in the back for your amp while still having the regular old battery under the hood. If I were to replace my factory or whatever old cheap battery under the hood with an XS battery. Which one should I be looking at? Going to be paired with a 120a alt, BC2k, and crescendo 1000c4 (125x4@4ohm) I'm guessing the D3400 as a replacement under the hood is correct? DylanBunch Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 This makes so much more sense now on why people have multiple batteries lol the more batteries means when you exceed the amps of the alt, several batteries will chip in causing less voltage drop instead of just one giving all its got and having bad voltage drop.
