Cdizzle
I was always thinking that this was the case. I was wondering if it is possible for the amp kit companies to lie, and put 4 gauge labels on their "kits" when they are really a higher gauge wire... I have 2 kits right now, My first one looks ALOT bigger then the 2nd power wire I have in there right now (Wire wise). Would it make much of a difference if it was really a higher gauge wire? Would it be louder if I installed the amp kit that looks like more wire "volume"? Quote Damn Thiefs

civichatch
It is completely up to the company on what size wire they want to label. I would always use the bigger wire. So i hope that answers ur question. rusty959
I know I got some "4" gauge that had such a thick jacket it only had the copper of some 8 gauge. And somewhere I read that some companies do package 6 or so gauge as 4... not sure where I read it or when it was, but I know I read it somewhere, so I guess it is possible. AI James
eh i run kicker amp kits they seem nice for the price so i dont mind 75-100 bucks for wire and distro blocks and fuse holder
Cdizzle
Well if it doesnt make that much difference then I will not worry about running that other wire. I would have to take up my newly installed carpet and then run that other wire under it... Sounds like it wouldnt make that much of a difference. Thanks for the info guys.
