If you make a change to your system, it will show up at 126db even though your system may be capable of playing 146db. If you make a change to your system, it will show up at 126db even though your system may be capable of playing 146db.Also, that little cheap Db Meter can help you figure your vehicle's resonant frequency. Not necessarily. At more intense SPL, tolerances are tighter. This is due to higher air speeds from reflected harmonics and increased interference, as well as power compression on the woofer cones. Case in point, at testing in the 120-130dB level, most cars seat position does not matter. At testing in the 145+ dB level, Seat position can mean up to 1 dB difference. It uses a condensor mic that must be calibrated often. It reads as much as 7 dB higher than a term Lab and isnt consistant.
