Decaf Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 ive done it before i wouldnt again tho, sometimes they charge a different rates and discharge at different rates this makes it very hard to keep both batts at the same voltage when one will always be drawin current from the larger one in a perfect world ud have the same batts under the hood as in the trunk Quote
Boon Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 The flooded ones almost always float at a lower voltage than dry cell (assuming you mean gel or AGM) so there's always a small trickle of current running from the dry to the wet. In theory it will run the battery flat after a while. Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
rubbernutz1 Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 well yea you guys are right about the wet drawing from the gels. but only in a perfect world can you use the same kind of batts in the rear as the front. alot of cars only have room for a small wet cell in the front. plus some peoples budgets may not allow for an extra gel cell to go in the front. just a thought is all Quote
