BeachJoshua Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 So I've been looing around, and turns out sound dampening material is expensive... but I definately need it, seeing as the roof flex on my S-10 makes the worst noise I've ever heard, and I'm sick of it, but I have NO money, and I'm wondering what I can do to fix this with out any money, very little money, or something of the sort... any ideas? I will be getting quality material when I get the money. Go to lowes or hope depot and get peel-n-seal. It's going to be in the roofing area. I'm sure people here are going to bad mouth it, but it does work. Just wipe the dirt off really well, and maybe give the roof a quick wipe with some paint thinner to clean it better. You can get a good sized roll which should be enough to do your entire roof, for $13 or so.

dsmdan Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 I get mine at home depot, I've only seen it in 6" wide x 25' rolls. Peel-n-Seal is the best, in my opinion it acts and looks just like dynamat xtreme its just a bit thinner. Same style sticker rubber backing, bright foil type front. I have a large kerosene/diesel torpedo heater that I use to heat up the cut strips, I get them pretty warm, to the point where the sticky rubber is almost glued to your fingers. I did a car that we still have over 5 years ago and its not had a single falling off issue, and it does work as sound dampener. Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
