All things being equal, the 2 r 12s will walk the re 15. Its worth it, You can probably get away with only buying one sheet of mdf for like 25 bucks and glue screws and cheap carpet for another 25 bucks so for around 50 bucks you can learn how to make a decent box, tune it where you want it tuned and just have the satisfaction of making your own. What do you really need a drill and circular saw? both things shouldnt be hard to track down.
