Idk what kinda car or enclosure you have but maybe the enclosure? Or under the seat (like Steve, that way it won't fall)

I thought mounting on the enclosure is bad for the amp.

my dad had his fosgate amp mounted on his enclosure without problems but his setup was weak. What kind of car do you have, that would help answer your question.

What kind of amp is it?

Depending on if it uses vertical, horazontal, or 45degree mosfet mounting can determine if the amp will work ok on a box or not. Vertical fets are the worse and to many vibrations may cause the mosfet legs to snap and fry the amp.

The way Rockford Amps are made and how the mosfets are mounted is what allows people to mount them on the box.

I personally dont see a sheet of sound deadening of ANY KIND will eliminate the vibrations caused from mounting a amp on a box.

The only proper way to do it is with 4 soft rubber type spacer/washer (at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch long to put between the amp and the box, and NOT tighten the mounting screws totally tight to the point you compress the rubber bushings fully.

Zapco amp,I'm not mounting on the box. Too many issues with that,if someone gets into my car that will be too easy to just snatch the box and have damn near everything.

:)

Really try bolting the box to the floor then Bolt the amp to the box with some rubber grommets.
