If I remember correctly, the largest AC Delco alt for passenger automobiles is 135amp. And that's for an F-350. I could be wrong though.

More then likely he lied to you to get you to pay more.

I have a 240 amp davilco alt on my bagged truck, and with both compressors going, SAZ-2000 at .5, SAX-100.4, and the HID's on I barely dropped to 13.3.

your voltage drop, is it at idle? or with you revving the engine? and to be honest, he probably told you it was a 250 amp alt just to sell it, but its

probably a 130 amp alt or something

lower, I dont see a reason you are

having that much voltage drop other than your alt, unless your batts are bad

yea its in idle and probably need to change the alt

x2. I hate yellowtops, but everyone is right. There is no way that alternator is doing 250s or close if you're dropping that low, if your batteries aren't shit already.

my batteries are about 2 months old i dont think its the batteries he sold me the alt for 325 dollars

Rev it to 2k and see if you get the same voltage drop. Maybe it might do rated but not at YOUR vehicle idle.

then i really wouldnt worry to much about it, thats not alot of voltage drop.. most alts wont do alot @ idle.. you gotta pay to have the beefy alts that do that...

Don't know if you batteries are well charged.

If your alt is not so powerful, try to use only one battery.

2 batts are probably too much for your car ?

I am not an electrical expert at all. But if your alternator is weak, a second batt will never help you.

acdelco makes a 200 amp for the larger vehilcle, hummer with 6.0 engine tow trucks ambulances and what not. thats the one i have on my blazer. they share the same bolt patern and plug as the cs130.

disconet your batteries and test them to see your resting voltage. you could have a bad battery

My alt does over 150s at idle. (700rpm)
