Running a second battery

Recommended Posts

Shit I thought I was going to have to buy ANOTHER battery for the front since it's a duralast. But it's kickin like a champ, read 12.93 volts resting, same as my new kenetik hc2000.

Are you going to run an isolator? If not you may come out to a dead battery under the hood...

Did it read that when you had them hooked together?

No i dont want an isolater UNLESS I can find a cheap one.. Not really looking to spend another hundred or so.. i tested each battery individually and they read around the same.

I found this, if I MUST get one. 200A

lol I love the "get one" and "no dont get one" thing going here. I don't really want to spend that kinda money on one, but I mean if it's absolutly necessary to get one then I could look into it. I could see maybe if my lights started to dim once everything is in after a while, maybe it's time to get an isolator, but at first I think it would be fine without one.

Don't worry about an isolator. Isolators are for your grandpa so the TV in his RV can run the battery bank flat and the batt up front will still start the motor.

Batteries 'fighting' each other takes like a month to have an appreciable affect.

One thing that's nice to see... finally everyone recommending _2_ fuses. That's taken a while, it's been my crusade for the last couple of years and it's nice to think maybe people noticed even if that's not actually the case
