question on my decibel results

Just got out of a competition and I only hit a 141.5 with 2 fully loaded fi bl's 12's on 2 alpine pdx 1.1000. Does that sound right because it seems kind of low to me. Btw the result was on music.

in a trunk i only did a 143.9

what kinda car/truck? hows your electrical? how big of a box? whats it tuned to? alot of things can affect your score.

sounds low to me. BUT it could easily be your song choice. or if they are in the trunk it would be right. find what frequency you peak at then find a song that plays that frequency.

give more system details, box size, tuning, electrical, ohm load, song played, trunk car or in the cab, ports and subs firing direction, etc.

Yea you need to factor in these things:

vehicle it's self, trunk, suv, truck ect

frequency - where does your vehicle peak at?

Air movement - can the air in the vehicle move freely, no obsticles such as seats boxes amp racks ect. The air needs to be able to move freely into the cabin

cabin temperature - I've noticed that the coler the cabin temp is, higher the score

electrical - better hope your not running 2k on stock electrical, 1/0, big 3, alt, batts ect can factor you could be getting low input voltage

and TONS more can factor in

I am going to guess and assume your box is NOT sealed off from the trunk

when you have subs firing in you néeD to seal it off from the trunk

Turn your box aroud, it'll go up. I witnissed this last week a guy at a show had an SSA sub do mid 130 firing in not sealed off from the trunk I told him to turn it around since it's not sealed from the trunk, he hit a 14x.x after he did

each sub is wired to 2ohm or they are 2ohm coils? turn the box to face the rear. you "think" 2 cubes? did you build it or is this a prefab box? what size is the port? how did you tune the amps? are the subs sharing the same airspace?
