dmanson
Thats the same problem we had with the Overdrive. It could only be slightly turned up or the amps would go into protect no matter what the gains were set at. This was using an RF RAVDVD head unit. We also didn't notice any gain in spl on the TL so it got pulled from the system. In my Altima though I'm using a Pac Audio TrunkLOC so maybe an increase in voltage would help. Its something to try next time. if you want a linedriver, get the 3.1 (crossover, equalizer, lindriver-all in one). 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative. redbaron80
I have a 2005 Nissan Altima. I did a single 2005 XXX 15 ported with one RF BD 1501. I hit a 142.1 @ 40 hertz. It was loud to me and very clean and deep. I tried it with two subs and it didn't work good at all. I gave up and bought My 1999 acura integra that I compete with now. I learned my lessen with a trunk car. I t takes ALOT of work to get it loud and sound right. Good luck with your build. Christian Official Scores at the Dash. and YES. Derrick824
We did a little testing today trying to get just the right amoun of port dialed in. The testing was done in my bro's Excursion in a box nearly identical to this one but this was an old one that we didn't mind cutting up. With two 4" ports in hit a 139.9, three 4" ports it hit a 142.1, and with four 4" ports it hit a 144.5. All these peaked between 38-41hz. So two more ports were added to the box and they were resized to bump our tuning to 44hz. We also tried out the test box in my Yukon. The subs were powered by my pair of T1Ks and it hit a 147.7 @ 38hz. Depending on the box/sub combo, my truck likes to peak in the 40-45hz range so I'm sure with proper tuning this would be a high 148db setup in my Yukon. We'll be doing some actual in car testing this week to see how the new box reacts in-car. I'm hoping we can get it to hit as good as it does in my truck. Forevrbumpn
nice set up man..... honestly, Iam not much for RF, but those are the only subs I have respect for in the RF line up, the Team RF- definitly not putting down RF, I also love thier power series amps, thats about it I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. Derrick824
I'm the same way now. Their new sub lineup doesn't impress me and its way overpriced. Thats why I'm still running older HX2 subs in my truck and recently purchased a set of Fi BLs. RF will have to come with something nice, new, and competively priced to get me to switch back to their subs. Now their power amps are great. They look good, sound good, produce a ton of under-rated power, and the prices aren't bad online (especially through HDA). I hope they don't phase these out.
