Moving your sub box in and out of your SUV

Recommended Posts

After SlappinF150 (Brad) and I putting in my box last night and almost killing ourselves I was wondering what you guys use to move your box in and out of your SUV? Horses? Some kind of jack stand?

I'm not looking for a daily solution as the box will live in the truck, but when it does come out it was BRUTALLY obvious that we need a better solution. Don't get me wrong, it's doable, and we did it, but there has to be an easier way and I figured someone here has more than likely tried a few options.

I usually just use some saw horses and a friend.Idk how big your box is, but mine was for 3 18s. It helps alot too if you take it out unloaded.

The subs are 160lbs and the box is a couple sheets of MDF. Not sure on the exact weight, but it's heavy. It's more awkward than anything else.

Thanks man, I was thinking horses as well (need to make a couple guides I guess as it's a tricky fit), but wanted to see if anyone had a trick ;) If I was pulling the box back out to paint it I wouldn't care, but we lost a speaker wire or two on our test run so the motivation isn't as high as it normally would be

Its usually nice if you can mount the subs after the box is in the truck

Get down here and help us unload it... :drink40:

I think we need to double the lengrh of the speaker wire so we can load it in the truck, it would be really awkward to load it inside the truck but I think it's doable and definitely easier than lifting them inside the box.

Last night we lifted it off of a creeper and into the truck. Going from 2 inches off of the ground to 3ft and fitting 46 wide into a 47'ish wide space and in over the bumper was ridiculous... :turkey::
