Dave that sucks bro!! i´m so sorry about your loss, my mom had a little teacup maltese, she was 15 years old, she was almost like a sister to me,she was in perfect shape when a eukanuba dog food problem appeared, there was tons of contaminated bags back home (venezuela) and one of them, was her food, she passed away because of that, those kind of things are depressing, sometimes i don´t want dogs anymore, you get so attached to them and then you have to watch them day, that sucks!!!

Here are our babies, 5 and 6 years old malteses with the 15 years old that i talked before...

We got 2 dachshunds at my house one I have had sense I was 2 so she is 15 now and the other is 12. I just know that this year could be the last for the 15 year old. She can barley see or hear anymore and when she sleeps she wont wake up for several hours. Sorry to hear about your dog man.

I feel ya loss bro. I have no clue what would happen if my dog's life was shortened by some asshole. It's a lil easier if you know its coming. I have a border collie/golden retriever who's my boy. I've had him for probably 12 years now, and got him as a pup. If I lost him it would be a bad day for me.

One a side note, my buddy, also a sorta neighbor just had his dog pass on. He was a warlock rotti. The HUGE ones, and man, everyone was afraid of this dog. Nicest dog once you got inside his gate, and he knew you, but he could mangle the shit outta ya. Great dog, but he isn't suffering anymore so he's moved on now. Pets can become a huge impact in the owners life.

Thanks guys, good to hear all these stories. Tivo is doing a little better today, Its good to hear about a wiener livin to be 15 years thou, that gives me hope for tivo to live a little while longer, he'll be 11 this year. Had em since he was about two weeks old, And i was there when he was born so its like a son to me. Thanks again guys this has helped alot.

haha they are super loyal, they are a pain in teh balls. both of mine would chase down any other dog they saw but only to say hi. they would never attack anything, except bugs....Also i was meaning to ask all you other dachshund owners, do your dogs like hotdogs? my two think they are the best thing on the planet! anyways thanks for all the resonce guys, just showed the gurly the thread and it put a smile on her face, which is nice cuz that hasnt happened much today....thanks SMD members!

my older one is the one who attacks anything that moves (including people) and his little "brother" follows in his footsteps so if one attacks, the other is right behind ready to pounce. it's funny when people get nervous when they bark. I'm like what is your problem, you weigh 200 pounds and they weigh 27 pounds COMBINED!

speaking of.. the older one weighs 10 pounds and normal weight for a mini is 10-11... BUT the younger one weighs 17!!! yet 2 different vets both say he is extremely healthy and is in good shape, despite his weight

Haha i know what you mean. Haylee was only 9lbs. Tivo weighs in at 16lbs lol and hit vet seems to think he is perfectly healthy. hope so i dont plan to loose him for a while. We did bury haylee. Tivo is starting to act more normal (as much as he can be, dog is weird) but hes sleeping in bed with us again. and eating. so things are starting to get back to normal. it is very sad to come home from work, and all my shoes still be in the rack by the door. Haylee would steal my shoes, and take them to where ever she was laying down. Never chewed on them, just wanted em to be close. She would also hide your car keys if you didnt hang them up. Either she was just plain silly or very smart Anyways enough out of me i just wanted to tell all the dog lovers that we did get her lay to rest. Thanks again for all the response!
