mantz88 Posted June 22, 2010 Report Share Posted June 22, 2010 I wanted all black wheels, but I got those dirt cheap new. I wouldnt recomend doing your tails that dark unless you have LED's. Only other pic I have of the stockers. I did this then the next week bought LED's. They were WAAAYYY dark. I painted them inside a dark building, then took em outside and said SHIT those are dark. You could see them at night but not very well during daytime. The LED's are great. Super dark also, but you can see them all times of day. The pic here is just the running lights the brake isn't pressed. If somebody want's their lights done pm me I can set you up with a slammin price. Posted June 22, 2010 Report Share Posted June 22, 2010 I have the VHT stuff now and its glossy, but I did a light sand before painting and then once it dried for a day, I wet sanded and buffed them with some mcguires gold liquid wax. Came out shiny. If I remember, I'll post some pics up. As you can tell, it might not be for a day or two. Working night shifts Also, I love the look of the black and clear coat mix, but cops do too. The VHT and Rusto stuff has a red tint to it, which also reflects a little still when light hits them. (at least mine seems to). Just a light scatch then paint. Turned out smooth as glass. Ive never been bothered from cops around here, but LED's help. The rule around here is they must be seen from 500ft during day time and 1000ft at night. Ive heard of plenty of people beeing pulled over for dark tails, but none of them have LED's. What it all amounts to is your light output. If your rockin stock tails I wouldnt recomend a dark tint or the cops will hassle you. Third shift FTW!! lol I think we have the same law, I've been bothered by random people more than cops. "Hey man, uhhhh I don't think your tail lights are working" everyother night I swear. The only cop to ever bother me just lurked on me for a little bit then pulled next to me at a red light and told me my tail lights looked really dim for some reason, but were fine when I breaked, he didn't even say anything about my blinker.
