superdave07 Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 So i have been thinking about getting AT&T internet service. Its cheap and a few friends of mine play xbox live with it and use the internet and what not. Anyways they give you a wireless router box so i can run up to six lines. I was wondering if anyone else uses this? i dont want to get mediacom who is huge in my area because they have too many contracts and crap. If anyone has used this or heard anything about it say something?? Xterra * 69 Camaro * Audi S5 36 Ford * 51 Mercury looking for wire sponsor www.flyracing.com

I gave my old router to a friend and hes using it on centurylink. So they are pretty universal.
JayP Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Check out Verizon DSL. For gaming I really recommend a better connection. Verizon 15/5 is good.
Slinky Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 I was at a buddy's house last night who had AT&T dsl. I did a speed test on my laptop to the wireless router and got 3 mb down, 1mb up, and a 40 ms ping. Those numbers are more than good enough for online gaming. AI James Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 when i had AT&T my only issues were speed, i'd lag out in live games, and the fact that the connection always randomly dropped. had techs come out and look at it 3 times and they couldnt get it.

I could see those issues happening with dsl in a highly populated area, but AT&T's Uverse internet dealio looks pretty promising. Haven't tried it for myself yet though.
