Help With Wiring Subs to 1 ohm please!

Ok, I have 2 12inch Type R Alpine subs, they are 4ohm each. I had them wired down to 1 ohm on my Sundown Saz-1000d, but I am beginning to think I could have made the mistake during wiring. I know that not all subs are exactly the ohm load they are posted. But I put a DMM on my connections and all together they are wired down to 1.4-1.5 ohms. Is that normal or is there something I have done wrong? and Is it safe to solder the connects together (+,+) (-,-) at the amp instead of bridging them at the enclosure? I have 1 ohm wiring diagrams but I need to see the real thing with and enclosure. I have a video channel of my setup I think the connection was fine and it was beating like it was but something is wrong here.Any help is appericated, I did take out the wiring and putting different kind in so now is perfect time for connection checks.

yeah man thats just fine, all your seeing is the slight impedance rise. Play your system and test the ohm load and see what happens. You should see a rise in impedance. I will let someone else chime in on this one though

inside of bridging them at the box, can i run the wires from the box then bridge them together, soldering them. Then screw them down at the + and - channel instead of bridging at the box it would be bridging them before before the amp. Thats what i did and I am getting a 1.4-1.5 ohm reading from a meter. It works but I want to know if its fine to do that.

Why would you bother running 4 wires when you can just run 2 thicker ones?

It probably reads higher cause your wires are too small. What size are they?

are your subs single 4ohm coils each? Or dual 4 ohm coils each?

If they are single 4ohm each, you can only wire to 2ohms.

But I think you are using the term "Bridging" incorrectly.

"Bridging" refers to a method of using 2 channels of a multi channel amp together to form a mono output.

When you say you are bridging the wires together, I think you just mean "Connecting" them together.

Proper terminology makes it less confusing.

Also, are you testing the woofer ohm load while it is connected to the amp? You need to disconnect for a proper reading.
