A crappy 12 will sound good in a well designed box. a Great 12 with sound crappy in a poorly designed box. Just need to get all your measurements that are applicable to your vehicle where you want your sub box located. Height+ Width+ Depth then you will need to know the displacement on your Sub woofer which is usually in the specs of the Sub in the manual... and Finally what type of music you prefer so you can tune the box to your personal music choices. SQ, SPL or SQL? im sure you answer will be "i want it to sound good and get loud" lol from my experience with subs ive owned and heard ill suggest these: SQ - image dynamics IDQ (sq guys say its better than a lot of subs 2x its price) SQL - RE SX (sounds great, gets loud) SPL - DC XL (with that ive done with mine i cant suggest anything else ATM) If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. I seriously doubt that. People competing in SQ and SPL both use boxes made with woods (birch and MDF are the most common) so I can't see fiberglass boxes having an inherent advantage. I will say that using resin and fiberglass inside a box will make it stiffer. Maybe that's what he was talking about? EDIT: Ninja'd Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above.
