so i moved my computer upstairs and i have my wireless router set up and working fine

now its upstairs and if i plug my modem directly to the tower it fine and connects but when i connect it to the router the wi-fi works but the internet on my desktop dosent connect what could be the problem

You have to get the Mac address from your computer then log on to your router and put your Mac address into the router.

The reason its not working is because the cable company stores your Mac address and that address get internet. A new router will have a different stock Mac address so you need to change it to match your computer mac address then you will have internet back.

first question, what make is the router?

im taking out my passenger seat, battery is disconnected, going to unwire and take out the three amps, take out the 70+ lb box, then the platform so i can crimp 1 wire.

x2 call ur internet provider or just use the ethernet cable....had the same problem with comcast and my ps3 i need to reset the modem every time i wanted to play online, so got a router and used a ethernet cable, wireless too but u need to add a bunch off different internet information for it to work :pardon:
