yeah i was thinking of trading my system now for a rockford p1000, that should power them enough right?
Does that pioneer amp put out 1000 watts peak or RMS? If it's 1000 WRMS, then you won't really see any difference.

A lot of things that are loud and sound good. Ever thought of building a ported box for your JLs and trying that for a while?

ive never really built a box and for the price local shops would cost me it would be cheaper just to get a whole new setup haha, and im pretty sure its 1000 watt peak

Building a box isn't that hard. Use lots of WOOD glue (NOT liquid nails), and use screws not for strength, but to clamp the pieces of wood together. Its basically a jigsaw puzzle for adults when you're building it. lol MDF and birch are the two most common building materials. I'd stick to one of those since they are proven performers. Almost any Lowes or Home Depot will carry everything you need. You can also pick up some carpet and glue and wrap the box, or paint it, or if you really like the way the bare wood looks, just leave it alone. If you use birch, stain it. Awesome outcome. (I do think my next box will use birch.)

I wouldn't trade an entire system for that amp. Either try buying it from them or buy one online. Even if it isn't an RF, there are several good amplifiers out there. If you don't mind getting an amplifer that's a little beat up cosmetically, Sundown is getting rid of b-stock and factory refurbs. Anything putting out 1000-1500 watts would be great (IIRC the W3s are rated at 500 RMS correct if wrong). Just make sure to properly set your gains. But you should do that with any amplifier you get...

I'd get a new amp first, and the get the box later, but that's my opinion. You can do it in whatever order you feel comfortable with. If done properly, both will probably get you a noticeable increase in output.

Even if you get a new setup, you'll still have to get a new box somehow.
