I have used ports very far from subs without any cancelattion, yes maybe it could get louder getting the tubes inside the box but, if he can´t hear any major difference to the ear, it means that he´s not gaining much, yes he could gain some by finding the sweet spot of the box inside the car, 5 dbs is A LOT, hope you are right and he gain that, but i wouldn´t guarantee it

There are a number of reasons not to put ports outside of the box that way. The biggest would be there is no baffle for the soundwaves that come from the port to load off. the ports stickout to far. it would take no time to cut the caulking bead and push them back in. well within reason i am not sure if he would hit the sub magnet.

Hell try it. thereis no reason this car cant break 143. it doesnt matter if they were pyles the cone area alone should do the trick!

the box is 10.8 before subs and its tuned to 35 hz ports cant go inside box im going to try and brace my box tomrrow and add in a v to defer air to the ports

in your vehicle it might be beneficial to try a diff alignment.

also if he put the ports in the box it would take up considerable volume and his tuning would be pretty funky.

even with all the above i still vote something might be wired wrong.

yea ill check the wiring tontie but i wonder if its the bolts im using that are adding resistance

added some bracing and sent the box off to the body shop to get painted my ohm load is sitting at 1.1ohms going into amp so no wiring problem

And maybe the subs closest to the port are acting as freeair?...

and maybe youll get more dbs if you tune that box higher.

I would double check the wiring, don`t know it was the cameras fault, but it looked like you have some phase issues.

well today i picked up a deka intimidator battery to help with my horible voltage drop box should be back in tuesday and we will see how it goes braced and bondoed and shinny lol
