Torres
sorry for a dumb question, but i'm gonna be gettin 4 fully loaded 15" BTL's. i understand ohms and what they do, but what kinda gets me (and i dno why) are the ohms on subs. what's the difference of a 1 ohm sub and a 2 ohm sub as far as putting power to em? i'm most likely gonna get a pair of 4k watt amps hooked at 2 ohms to power em. question is should i get 1 ohm model? or 2 ohm for the most out of my amp? or should i get the universal model to change it? will possibly change to 1 ohm for comps, or if they can just handle the power period. thanks

Chode69
different ohm loads offer different wiring options. to get the most out of them T4ks get dual 1 ohm and wire 2 per T4k to 1 ohm mono. E a r t h
Well, you need atleast 2000wrms apiece to each btl for em to shine,so what are the amps in question? Can you also tell me what your electrical is like?Just with the info provided, the BL line might be better suited for you instead of going straight to the flagship of Fi

dwright27
get dual 2's and parallel each woofer to 1 ohm then series back up to 2 ohms, or get dual ones and paralellel each woofer to .5 and series them back to 1. this is for only 2 woofers, the other 2 will have to be done say way and hooked to different amp. E a r t h
If you're going to run 1 amp to each pair of subs get dual 1ohm coils, series wire the coils then parallel wire the subs together.Repeat this for the other amp and subs. This will give you a total nominal load of 1ohm per amp.
