It's not absurd... I think he said its pointless, because each sub does different in different enclosures... So, unless you plan on building 15 different enclosures, and throwing the same amount of wattage over the RMS to each sub, its gonna be pointless... I mean if the RMS of the DC is 2000 watts, and your throwing 6,000 to it. And if the RMS is 3500 of the SMD then you need to throw 3x its RMS just like the DC, otherwise, it wont be fair and you'll have people crying like bitches about why their sub lost or didnt do as good...

I personally think the shit between these 2 subs is fucking stupid. They are both BEASTS, and you'll never convince me that one is better than the other...

I also like the fact that the lvl 5 was designed for spl and smd was made for daily and to take the power for loonnng periods of time

So while doing this pointless test you should play each sub at full tilt for 5 hours each and see what sub last longer

i love death matches...ive won 4 out of 5 that ive done. only reason i lost is because my box was coming apart and i said fuck it its a death match so lets kill it...ive been in 2 with the DCs and won both times..not against the SMDs but they still won

I have both woofers. And its apples and oranges here so many different variables

I thought that this "drop in" test was to see which sub sounds better in CJ18's truck not which sub is better. Not trying to jack your already jacked thread hahaha CJ18, your box work is bad azz cant wait to see what the finished set up that you go with looks and sounds like. Keep up the good work. :drinks:

This is fun its like the SMD guys got all defensive about it as soon as they saw the comments. They know there will be a gain in db with the dc and it will probably perform better... But that doesn't mean he will like the DC better... The SMD is a super woofer for sure and can slam lows all day with crazy wattage. Maybe he will still like his SMD's more just because numbers are better possibly doesnt mean they will fit what he wants. And this isn't to see which sub is better cause he cant do that... It's which one he likes more in his application. So when you guys are saying its pointless It's funny that you dont understand what the test is....
