Im all for supporting the brick and mortar stores, but when I can make a phone call, and become a dealer with a buy-in, and nothing more is asked about it, then there is a problem.

Of course I know about calling direct, I bought my first ~3 subs that way.

If you have a business license, there is no other dealers in your area, and you have a shop...you can carry the AA product.

There are many people who simply do car audio stuff on the side for extra money outside of their normal 40 hour a week job to get by...

I can't speak for others though.

I'll put money on he has less power with the SMD's on a per watt basis.

Not as stringent on the store front thing because it is understood that there are guys out there that do great work and are simply weekend warriors working out of their garage..there are a handful of those. The vast majority has store front though.

CJ I started reading the threat and cringed at the first enclosure, but as I read on I saw the enclosure changing into a truly better enclosure and was relieved to see it going in the right direction. Very nice craftmanship and it will get even better over time I am familiar with the vehicle and I see you in the 154-155 area real soon if the build trend continues. If ya need some more idea's your way just pm and I will be glad to help.

so a sub rated at 20k on a burp getting ~10k watts of burp is maxing it out...i think its got another 10k of burp on her. *disclaimer yes the 20k would have to be in a "perfect scenario" blah blah blah..as far as music...yea the SMD will most likely play longer at a louder volume...got a lot more VC to disperse heat...doesnt mean the Level 5 CANT do it though. if hes looking for music yea one may be louder than the other but one may play for longer. depends what hes looking for deathmatches? a little more at competitions? long ass demos? what we can say is this test has not even been done yet and both sides are already counting the other side out. once the results are up im either going to see either some DC people in an upset and pulling back their statements SMD guys saying YEA SMD WINS then each who said the test was invalid and stupid will try to smear it in DCs face as if it WERE a valid test...or the DC guys cheering on that DC won and out performed a sub w a 4 inch coil and the SMD guys getting all mad and yelling it was an invalid test and blah blah blah...

i myself will say i think this is a pretty kool test just to see what will be better for his application...yea im a DC guy leaning for the Level 5 but i still think the SMD is a badass sub and if it out performs for his scenario...i got no hate...i think that sub is pretty beastly and i got excited when i first saw it

I will say this...the Defiant Hummer...when they had the Mayhems in...it sounded much louder and hit higher on the mic...dropped the SMDs in the same box...and from Elliot himself said the SMDs are more speced for that box than the Mayhems..for those subs and with MORE POWER the score went down. Now if it takes more power and the set up gets QUIETER then somethings not right...i rather spend less money on the sub and the amps and the electrical system..get louder then have to do MORE just to get less sound..at least in that scenario.

also im pretty sure if SMD wasnt in the title and it was JUGGERNAUT vs DDZ most likely neither of us would even chime in so you dont really have much to go for as far as band wagon with the AA. all you guys out there call us DC guys nut huggers for loving our gear yet SMD or AA comes up and someone says "DCs probably gonna get louder" it turns into a big fight...this is funny..yea i love my DC but i think its funnier seeing all this going on

I cant remeber if he pulled that with 4 or two amps but regardless both you and me have seen him put up that score with the DD's now if it was 4 amps lets see the lvl 5's on it.

Yes the SMD can take a amount of power, from what I understand is that the SMD's were made to take ALOT of power and have great sq while doing that in no manner are they spl drivers. and if they are actually getting more power its what 800 watts more? hmm not much of a gain per sub. Now im sure Andrew(owner of the Hummer) has more voltage drop because of the current draw from the new amps. less voltage=less power. Also because of the voltage they have had problems with one of the amps going into protect. So technically we dont know if that score was on 1 or 4 subs. I believe he has 2-3alts and only 4 batteries. He needs more votlage. The subs could take another 2k each w/o a problem im willing to bet.

and if the lvl can be burped at 20k so can the BTL. see this can go back and fourth and im a AA/Fi customer for life but i still will say that i believe the lvl5 will be louder and im not bitching or complaining like your trying to make it out to be. Sq wise i think the SMD will take due to design. Now am i right? maybe, maybe not. I was just simply stating what i thought the results would be and why.

meh id rather not. all i really need to know is the customer bought 3500 watt rated amps and has 3500 watt rated subs being out performed by a 2000 watt rated sub. could be flattering and then again not being both is made by your company and the mayhems were asking for more power too. now we all know that power probably want fully seen due to theres never a perfect scenario and all that jazz. but still losing 3-4 db JUST LIKE THAT..why do i need to test...if you want me to test power actually going to the speakers vs rated RMS of sub why would i need to. the customer had the amps that were identical to the subwoofers ratings and LOST SPL by 3-4 db in some cases more when he was doing other tests. yea the mayhems were reaching their "limit" sooner but still...thats HUGE loss....does the person need to go and spend another $5-$6k on amps batteries and power wire just to hit the same number as what the other subs were doing only to reach thats subwoofers "limit" as well? doesnt make a damn bit of sense to me

i would love to see him put all 4 in his ex and see what his score is. and as far as 800 watts per sub...yea 800 watts may not sound like much but factor that between 4 subs thats 3200 watts hmmm thats a lot of power if ya ask me...thats the difference between another sub, another amp, thats a HUGE difference. and going from a high 153-low 154 to barely breaking a 150 on the same songs, tones, everything...yea thats a HUGE difference. besides werent their new amps supposed to be more efficient? hmmm

If people can get the Level 5 POTENTIALLY louder than the SMD on 5k watts reaching its limits...and then you have to POTENTIALLY put more power to the SMD to reach its limits only to do the same numbers does it make sense? as said before i think this is an AWESOME test for the OP to see which will be LOUDER AND MORE SUITED FOR HIM AND HIS VEHICLE. and like i said in another post the test hasnt even been done yet so it could go 1 way or another.

in my defense i never once said one subwoofer is better than the other...i just said for his case i would like to see which would best suit his application
