That is the box I am most likely going to go back to. As long as I am happy in the end thats all that matters. Im just doing this build log to show off my truck and maybe learn something from people who have good ideas and know more than I do. On that note I just want to say thanks to Will aka MADVIBES for taking time to talk to me and giving me some good ideas on how to my my build better. I know it was hard to see in the video of the subs, but the 3500w per was barely moving these things. I know AA rated them at 3500w but I think that is such an under rating its not even funny. I would be comfortable giving these subs 5-6k daily without thinking twice. I am up in north florida in panama city

But I dont think thats the case. whats your problem with the SMD I just seen 2 SMD 15's this weekend hit a 151 and some change on two saz-3500s in a up fire enclosure in a truck, i'm not knocking your system, I just think you might need to rethink your enclosure design. Keep up the good work! Different truck.. you cant even compare the scores and as he said he was having voltage issues so he's not where he should be I will give a better opinion once I hear the LVL 5s but so far i am very impressed by the sound of the SMDs I dont care what the number says they flat out hurt. The SMD is a completely new sub and has its own characteristics of what it wants to get loud. I think I am going to try putting it in a smaller enclosure like I keep hearing and see what it does. Im thinking 5.25 per before displacements. since your only giving them "RMS" i wouldn't give them that little space i talked to Nick(yes from Fi) about the optimal space for these subs and he said at RMS or a little over you'll be fine in 6 cubes(yes after displacement). As you said they were barely moving which means you dont need to make the box smaller. you make it smaller to help control power handeling which is obviously not a problem for the subs lol any other questions i'd pm him on here.. NDMstang(some numbers i cant remember right now) is his name on here he commented in here atleast once Suburban Coming Soon
CJ18 Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 Im waiting for the DCs now, but they are just going to sit in my room and look good for a few days until my new dual alt gets here. Just got off the phone with Matt at Mechman and got a 270 GM style with a voltage regulator ordered for my secondary alt and it will be dedicated to charging my back battery bank.
