Or will the battery (once run for a while) be drained and sit at 12v because the system only charges @ 12v? I don't want to upgrade alts etc....don't need to. thebiggmann12 Posted September 22, 2010 Report Share Posted September 22, 2010 you would need to either convert ur car to all 16v or just run a second alternator at 16 volt and then use that alternator to charge just the 16v battery. u cannot add a 16 volt batt to a 12v system.
