  1. 1. which amp would you pick?

    • sundown sae-1000d
    • crunch p1-2000.1

Well, the Sundown will actually do rated power. The crunch only has 8O amps of fusing and is a class A/B amp so I don't think you're gonna get close to 1000 watts.

how many watts does the sundown really do? the only reason ive started this is because i know sundown is a respectable brand and is very underrated but if i can buy the crunch and doe just as much clean power as the sundown and save my seld the extra money for other stuff in the future might go that route

I can't believe you're even tryin to compare the 2, sundown all the way, even Sundown is way under priced for what you're gonna get outta the amp, I paid $750 for a jl 1000/1v2 n then bout a sundown 3500d for not much more, if u have the loot def go with Sundown u won't b disappointed

The Crunch would do just fine on your level 3 if you really have other things to spend money on. But regardless, Sundown is in a whole other league here in this comparison, spend more money and get more power, technology, and quality. Or... Save money, have no problem driving your subwoofer and pocket some cash.

On a side note, if you are going to look into Crunch, at least look into the right line.... lol

I'm not necessarily sure if your counter-example here is the best either. lol Comparing JL Audio pricing to ANYTHING else makes anything else look reasonable. This is no diss whatsoever to Sundown Audio as I would run an amplifier from them too if I had the money, but compare prices between a Saz-1500 to a Hifonics 2010d. Both will do around the same power, with the Hifonics running you $300-$500 less. Just my opinion.
