cubs_fan0718 Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Power Inverter? you could hook a boom box up to. back in the early 00-02 days we used to have a tv and gaming system hooked up with one in a buddys car used to cruise around playing video games/watching movies. I also used one for my first stereo had a RCA powered sub box for home theater took that 12 out and replaced it with a mtx thunder 8000 and hooked it up in a chevy spectrum hatch back. I thought i was the coolest guy around at that time having a stereo slam that only cost me 75 bucks. and this power invertor wasnt one u plug in a cig lighter, it had like 2/0 wires to hook up too. 06 Impala SSKenwood Excelon DDX593 Ampere Audio 150.4 Ampere Audio 5K1 XS D4700 (front)Mechman 320a Alt. w/ Big 3 Lots of Second Skin Damplifier Under Construction for 2017

maverick Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 what kind of speakers are you talking about running? lol what kind of desired sound from tailgating are we talking here ?
Sanitarium Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 if you're only drawing say.. 100 amps for a big 4 channel amp, a single car battery could run that for well over an hour . i'd say use 2-3 car batteries and a good powerful 4 channel amp.

THIS is preferable and what we do, if looking for something smaller throw a cheapo box together with some components and a cd player, you can even cut the wire off a car charger and rig it to supply the 12v ground/power necessary to run something this small
