I like my magnets baked lol jk. If you saw smoke then I think it's probably done. I've smelled coil a few times after playing it hard for a while. Never smoke though. Hope all is well.

they look normal? enamil isn't supposed to be charred black lmao. I think the coils are fried man :-/ magnets dont just break they are strong.

listen. the coil is a LONG piece of wire wrapped in spirals with each turn butted up against each other. you burn the lacquer off of part of it, and those turns short against each other.

If you took a multimeter to it when you first got it, do it again now. you'll notice lower resistance.

So the coil shorting against it self im sure isnt good, and yea that coil looks toasty, but it still works, then what has happened..? why does it still work? or is it gonna just short and blow fuses...
