yeah, neighbors dog dug a hole under said neighbors fence. OP should have had his own containment for his dog, instead of relying on the neighbors fence to contain HIS dog.

you definitely have a case, and the OP did say the dogs have been known for violence previously, right there it is against the law not to have signs posted, in MI anyway. And my girlfriends family had a guest over and SHE provoked the dog multiple times and when it did finally bite her she is trying to sue. And she had a legitimate case until she changed her story and had about 7 witnesses saying she provoked the dog.

And as far as being on the other property, it doesn't matter if he was breaking in or just visiting, if the OP was hurt on their property he technically can sue. He might not win depending on evidence or the judge, but he could always just have a out of court settlement as well.

again take my advice don't listen to them about 99% of everyone in here don't know what we're talking about and are just handing out opinions which doesn't cut it in our justice system... so just get a hold of law enforcement, save your receipts and other evidence like pictures and show them and ask them what they think, because their opinion is going to be a lot more accurate and left minded than the people on here... sorry guys lol.
