hey steve, i dont know if this has been asked, but ive been wondering it for a while.

youre running the comps in the doors at a pretty low ohm load right?

and youre using the passive crossovers they came with?

does the different ohm loads mess with the crossover frequencies any?

I may be wrong.....

but i think he is using all the crossovers that came with the speakers, its only when you use more speakers then the crossover is designed for (( unless you use enough to make the ohm load the same) but then you cant run as much power thru it) say 2 mids and 2 tweets per x over.

you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol

not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be.

Jackass

Well you can tell by my post that i am commited to this project and i care about it. When you dont hear anything for a month and a half, it wears down on you a little. Especially when were so close to finishing! You know all i need is to be told "im drinkin, ill holla later man!"......even if its for 6 months, its better then a full on ignore. On top of that, everyone wonders WTF is taking me so long. This disapearing act has been going on since August LOL, its hard to stay motivated and move forward in this situation. Like i said, its pretty bad when i have $100,000+ dollars of someones property in my posession and if it burnt to the ground or got stolen (or even car jacked) i would have NO way of telling the owner because he changed his number and dissapeared. I couldnta' even gave it back if i wanted to LOL :D

Forget the car for a sec, i hate when ANY of my good friends change their number and dissapear - the caddy project just complicates it a little :D

Anyway, all that aside, Im glad i got to go up there the other day and hang out for a few! I will be working on the caddy hopefully this weekend. I gotta order up some shocks and do something about the death-ride situation :D

yes they are ran lower then i thought.....i had them calculated at 1.33 ohms and it turns out that its at .67 - WAY too much power for them - but then again, i have TONS of headroom now. The most important thing is that nothing is clipping - its all setup with a scope.

I am using passives but they are also active. It goes like this.

Subs Active lowpass 80hz and down

Midbass Active bandpass 50hz - 500hz (IIRC)

Midrange/Tweeter Active Highpass 80hz and up - then seperated up front with the passives. There is one set of componants per x-over just like normal.

so she is an active system with a hint of passive - i had no choice, i was out of channels!

its bagged with no front shocks and torsion bars Removed. Rear shocks are shot since they are stock from 2002 - and its been bagged since the first day.

It was bad before but now with 2500lbs, it is real bad....unless fully locked up (extended as high as it will go) the truck is unstable on the road. I am going to install a shock relocator kit up front and replace the rear shocks - that should take care of the stability issue (i hope).
