3 d2= 1ohm load?

ok i am in the process of buyinh 3 d2 subs. i can wire them to a 1 ohm load? was more than likely going to get the sa12 from sundown.

The lowest you can get without going below 1 ohm is 1.34

1.33 is as close as you can get

Series each sub then parallel them together.

each sub would have one positive and one negative hooked together on that sub from one coil to the other. then all the other positive and negative wires would be connected at the amp.

If you get d1.4s you can wire it like that and come out to .8 or so and I doubt it would matter that close to 1ohm

If you want the easy way to figure out impedence of multiple subs in parallel, just do this:

Figure out what each sub will be wired to. D2s would be 4 ohms in series, 1 ohm in parallel. D4s would be 8 or 2. Then, take the impedence of each sub, and divide it by the total number of subs.

Example.

You have 6 dual4 subs. You series the voice coils on each (8 ohm) and parallel all the subs. The final impedence would be 8/6 or 1.33 ohms.

If you parallel them first (2 ohm) then parallel them all you would have 2/6 or .33 ohm.

2 D1s in series then parallel would be 2/2 or 1 ohm.

3 D2s in series then parallel would be 4/3 or 1.33 ohms. In parallel then parallel they would be 1/3 or .33 ohm.
