What fits in your install better? Its such a vague term. Hifonics is good stuff, most people that say they suck have never used their gear. And sundown for their beast amps My Hifonics XX Goliath, XXV Maxximus, XX Colossus, Crunch GP3000D pro have all done above rated. As per my tests as well as many others. I thought thats what made people think amps were good. As far as reliability, That Crunch and Cyclops were the most relaible amps I ever had, thought thats what made amps good too. I'm not sure on the reliability of the Hifonics, but I know people who have used them for a long time and never had any problems. Sundown underrates their amps, their build quality is very great (that is what I've heard). If buying Hifonics, I would buy the next step up from what you need. If you want a true 1000 rms, I would buy the 1500 rms rated amp. Yes you will get more than 1000 rms, with the 1500, but you can always keep the gain down a little. These guidelines are for the HIfi line, which is their lowest line. The other lines are CEA-2006 compliant, so they will do rated. Sampsons are rated at 8000w but a couple teammates were getting over 11k out of them.
