It is truly an issue that I know we have all felt needs some restructuring. i think the whole argument is based on an incorrect way of thinking. it started by a guy complaining about driving 3-4 hours for a show. back when i was competing, i would have been thrilled to have a show that close to me. i was driving 6-7 hours, sometimes 12 hours each way, for shows. over saturation of judges is gonna be another negative turn. as said in that thread, anyone with a termlab can host an event. the problem isnt with promoters, it is with shops not wanting to take a gamble on a show. I went to regionals 4 years in a row, once to Arizona and had a great time. If you can make it to a show great, if not, thats cool too. Just don't complain about you not being able to go. MarioB Posted October 27, 2010 Report Share Posted October 27, 2010 I think Bill laid it out nice it was my first comp. ever and i was in a SSNW class and got my ass handed to me at my first show. but it keeps me more motivated to build better. i got a decent setup IMO and it has some potential but being a noob i dont know what it can really do and we need the help from the vets to keep us coming back. im not gonna stop going to events cuz i lost the only thing that stops me are i got 2 kids and low on cash but hell i try my best to get out there and compete. 12- DC Audio m2Lvl3 12's1- Hertz HSK3 way2- DC5K's2- ZX350.42- Stinger SP1500D batteries in rear3- runs of 1/0ga. to the rearTeam DC Audiodcsoundlab.com Quality is all in how you take pictures I have plenty of projects that look WAY better on camera then in person crazy to fit so many in so little. PUNKYOU007 Posted October 27, 2010 Report Share Posted October 27, 2010 Nothing like driving 5 hours on a Sunday morning, paying $40 to compete in a class with 2 other people...then finding out all you get is a print out in a Dollar Tree picture frame and having to drive 5 hours back and try to get some sleep before having to work the next day. I still enjoy it but a lot of these comps are total BS. I can say that the one comp that I have ever been to that was really worth the time and money sunk into it was the 1st TDH comp. The biggest I have ever gone to. Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C. Arson d(-__-)b beer sucks...but i can bring some jose cuervo. Only problem is that it makes me horny and gives me the rams. So unless yall wanna fight and then have some great make up sex i will leave it home.
